Have you heard about this U of G based startup?

June 30, 2017

The humble beginnings of a startup that could potentially change everything about how we consume! Located only 2 minutes away from the University of Guelph, these U of G students have a big vision that they're executing on everyday.

The Vision

"Quickly & easily locate, compare, and rent consumer goods in your area instead of wasting money on products you will only use once." is what Ryan Frampton & Drew Mortensen came up with after failing to find a website allowing them to rent textbooks easily online. However, Lendr Inc. isn't just for renting school textbooks, the first 4 product categories that will be included in the initial release are camera gear, music equipment, party/event supplies, and home & lawn care equipment. This early access release will first roll out in Guelph on February 1st, 2018 and then the entire Greater Toronto Area. Ryan & Drew hope to end the days of calling different rental businesses to get a simple price comparison by allowing individuals to post items for rent into one easy to use interface. Down the road they even want to add a feature that allows consumers to get these goods delivered right to their door!

Currently, Lendr Inc. is still developing their platform, however, if you'd like to be apart of the closed February 1st, 2018 beta, you can sign up as a Lendr by going to www.lendr.info/become-a-lendr

The Team

As important as the idea of Lendr Inc. is the driven team behind it! Ryan Frampton the Chief Executive Officer and Drew Mortensen the Chief Customer Officer have made it their goal to keep the startup U of G based as long as it makes sense. This is why the current team consists completely of Guelph students including Ryan & Drew. This is not their first business however, Ryan & Drew each own and operate their own businesses, which have given them a great deal of experience and prepared them for this challenge. Ryan has been successfully helping some of the top realtors in the country with their social media marketing through Frampz Marketing and has even been helping a successful international food company launch their Canadian product line by utilizing online strategies. Drew has had tremendous success helping small to medium sized businesses get online through his web design services offered at Navy Street Web Design! Lendr.Rent's software engineering team's drive is second to none, led by project manager Jordan Malfara who handles the backend development and plays a key role in the hiring process. Kamran Ferki who leads the Android development of the application has played a huge role on the team by contributing breakthrough insights on the business aspects of the startup. A recent and promising addition to the team is Muhammad Jaffar who has already proven to be a driven team member handling the web development of Lendr Inc.!
